Thank you for investigating my hand spun yarn!
I LOVE yarn but I HATE waste, so I spin locally sourced fibres with sustainable textile waste to create eye-catching and interesting art yarns.
These yarns are inspired by photographs I've taken and the yarn will come with that image - rarely a day goes by when I don't feel compelled to record nature doing it's awesome stuff, and I love attempting to replicate these stunning colours and textures in fibre.
I love joyful, chunky, textured yarn: hand spun yarn is not meant to replicate commercially produced yarn - we are fortunate enough at the moment to not have to spin yards of consistent fine yarn to knit or weave to clothe our family, so I believe that while we can, we should have fun with the yarn we knit, crochet and weave!
Slubs, nepps, thick-and-thin, beehives, coils - all these textures are there to be enjoyed; there's no 4ply sock yarn here!
WHAT CAN I MAKE WITH THE YARN?
Smaller quantities are more suitable for hand embroidery, embellishing and needle/wet felting - prices from £5 for 10 yards.
Larger quantities of yarn - prices from £10 for 50 yards - a few ideas are available on my FREE STUFF BLOG or ...
...have some fun and try weaving; get some chunky needles and use as a contrast colour or texture when knitting with a chunky commercial yarn; make MASSIVE fat pompoms; unwind the skein and wear as a necklace or loose scarf with added accessories - or simply hang it on the wall and admire it!

SHIPPING, CANCELLATIONS, RETURN AND REFUND POLICIES
We hope you will be delighted with your purchase from A TAIL OF YARN, operated by Elizabeth Tanner, so to get it to you as soon as possible, we use Royal Mail and aim to SHIP to UK addresses within 2 -3 business days.
If, however, you’re not happy with your purchase you should tell us within 14 days of receiving the goods that you want to CANCEL, and you should RETURN the product within 30 calendar days of your purchase.
The product that you RETURN must be in the same condition and packaging that you receive it and unused and undamaged in any way.
Sorry, but we can’t take responsibility for any items lost or damaged in transit; you would need to take this up with the courier/postage company to make a claim.
Although you’d have to pay the shipping costs for returning your item, we will issue you with a store credit to the same amount.
After we receive your item, we will inspect it and process your REFUND.
Within 14 days of us receiving the goods back the money will be refunded to the original payment method you’ve used during the purchase.
For credit card payments it may take 5 to 10 business days for a refund to show up on your credit card statement.
