These items are described as 'STUDIO SALES' and are usually only available to buy in the studio or at an event simply because each item is uniquely different ( I may create similar items but I don't intentionally produce copies) and often there's quite a lot of them, so keeping the website up-to-date with in-person sales isn't feasible!

Woven patches

Knitting needles & yarn




Gentle hand wash using mild detergent in luke warm water, do not rub.

Squeeze out excess liquid, re-shape and dry flat away from direct heat.

Darn, sew, weave, tuck in any loose ends – do not cut!


WOOD or METAL ITEMS - hooks, sticks, needles, spindles, shawl pins, key rings


Wipe with damp soapy cloth.

Check for any rough patches or splinters - smooth off using fine sand paper.



I’m looking forward to my purchase from A TAIL OF YARN – when will I get it?


We use Royal Mail and aim to ship to UK addresses within 2 -7 business days.

Sorry, but we can’t take responsibility for any items lost or damaged in transit; you would need to take this up with the courier/postage company to make a claim.

What if I’m not happy with my purchase?


You should tell us within 14 days of receiving the goods that you want to cancel, and you should return the product within 30 calendar days of your purchase.

The product that you return must be in the same condition and packaging that you receive it and unused and undamaged in any way.

Although you’d have to pay the shipping costs for returning your item, we will issue you with a store credit to the same amount.

When will I get my refund?


After we receive your item, we will inspect it and process your refund. Within 14 days of us receiving the goods back the money will be refunded to the original payment method you’ve used during the purchase. For credit card payments it may take 5 to 10 business days for a refund to show up on your credit card statement.
